Westside Day 1 & 2

January 21, 2013 By Field Missionary

We have very special guests with us right now!  My home church, Westside CotN (Indianapolis), has sent a team to help us with the Cobb Worship Center (CWC).  My prayer, and their prayer, is that they will leave an indelible mark here in the Philippines… well, they started out with a bang!  They were SUPPOSED to land on Saturday night at around Midnight, but their flight was delayed due to some sort of technical problems with the plane.  They ended up spending the night in Hong Kong and coming ealry the next morning.  Now, according to our local Work & Witness historian, Nanding (my “right-hand man”) who has been helping with W&W teams for many years now, said that this was the first time that he’s been to the airport and returned “empty handed”.

A big announcement!

January 12, 2013 By Field Missionary

We have some great news to share with you!

Inevitably, during our conversations with others around here, they always bring up the fact that we don’t have a boy in our family. They say, “Awww, you have such beautiful girls! Are you going to try for a boy?” We always tell them that we’re happy with three and we feel like our family is “complete” with the girls. Well…

That’s not the good news that we have for you! I’m just having a little fun with you all.

New Year’s Resolution

January 6, 2013 By Field Missionary

Happy New year to everyone!  This is the second update of the year for me.  The second update in less than a week!  And there’s no team here.

I made a New Year’s resolution.  The first time I’ve made one in many years.  My New Year’s resolution was to not make any New Year’s resolution… So, depending on how you look at it, I failed on the first day, or I will be successful in keeping my resolution all year long.  I’m leaning towards the former.  So I’ve already failed to keep my resolution!

I really do want to try and post pictures and videos from the previous week or post something that “struck” me during the week.  I’m going to start by sharing with you from today’s church service at Taytay First Church (our home church in the Philippines).
