Michigan Day 2

October 26, 2012 By Field Missionary

Wow! I’ve been blown away today. The Lord met with us early and stayed with us the whole day. Thank you, God!

We started out with a strong devotional from Pastor Wil and some sharing time. Then we headed over to Antipolo First Church of the Nazarene to prepare the team for the prison ministry. Pastor Oni briefed us on what to expect and some rules for us to follow. Once we were “trained”, we prayed for the ministry and then headed off to the prison.

after prison

We had no idea what to expect. As we entered in to the common area for the women, we were greeted by what appeared to be all 88 prisoners. The room wasn’t more that 20′ x 25′, and that’s where we worshipped!

The women started out by sings a couple of praise songs and then it was introduction time. After introducing ourselves, some of the team members shared a quick testimony. After the testimony time, we sang a song.

Michigan Day 1

October 25, 2012 By Field Missionary

We had a great first day!  Since the team arrived so late last night (1:30am on campus), we decided to have a friend of ours cook breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  So the team had some awesome Filipino food their first day here.

After breakfast we had our devotions and sharing time lead by Pastor Wil.  I can already tell that this team is spiritually rich!  I’m looking forward to this sharing time every day.  I believe the Lord will use this time to speak to each member and it will be a time of healing and renewal!  Please pray for this time of shaing.  Pray for each member and for their spiritual growth.

It’s going to get busy!

October 24, 2012 By Field Missionary

It’s been a long time since I’ve put an update out here… an embarrassing long time! Sorry!

Since my last update, we made a trip home to the states for a couple of months and now we’re back in the Philippines, ready to welcome the Michigan District team coming tonight.

It was so nice to have some time back home with family and friends, but it’s also nice to be back home.

We have a lot going on over the next 8 or 9 months! As I mentioned earlier, the Michigan District team is arriving tonight. They will be with us until the 6th of November. On the 7th of November, the medical mission team from Susanville, CA is arriving. I will be traveling with them to Palawan and Samar and then they leave on the 17th of November. Then we have a month off, kind of… we don’t have any teams coming, but there’s still work to be done here.

In January, my home church is sending a team to come and work on the Cobb Worship Center. That will be a special time for me! I’m so excited to have some of my closest friends coming to serve with us. After they leave I have four teams coming before we head off for General Assembly in June. And when we get back from General Assembly, my home district is coming the very next week!

Please pray for the Michigan District as we not only help construct the Cobb Worship Center, but we will also have several opportunities for evangelism. On the second day they are here we will take the team to a Antipolo, a nearby city, and participate in a prison ministry and a hospital outreach. We will also be showing the Jesus film on Nov 2nd. We have a couple of other possibilities too, but we’ll see what the team wants to do.

Also pray for their safety. They will be working on scaffolding, working with cutting tools, welding, and sharp metal. So they could really use your daily prayers!

As usual, I will try to send out a daily update of the team’s progress and pictures/videos from the day. I think for this team I will begin sharing more pics and less written words.

Speaking of pictures, I have several I want to share with you for the last few months. I hope you enjoy them!

Jason
