Our last team of the year has come and gone. Wichita First Church sent a team for the second time this year. They returned to Manantial to help complete the project there. Have a team come back to the same location is special, but to do it twice in one year? Well, that’s extraordinary! One of the biggest benefits of returning to the same project is that the strong relationships that were built during the last trip become stronger, and you become more like a family. You have people sharing more, praying with each other more, and caring for each other more. That’s exactly what happened during this trip.

The Hub
When we first found this space, we hadn’t yet understood that it would become “The Hub”. At the time it presented itself, we were head deep, not knee deep, in helping to run our Charity Shop. We had things filling up our dining room and our terrace. Every week for hours we sorted through donations, and did the finances for the shop and we each served different “shifts” during the week. And while it was a lot of work, we loved it! Right before our eyes, we watched God use this tiny space to really impact people’s lives. Before we began renting this new space in April 2014, we thought it could help the Charity Shop out by providing part of the space for storage in the basement as well as be a place for new ministries to develop (then we found out this summer the space was too small for the abundance of things God has provided for the Charity Shop!). On faith, we took “The Hub” and began to get excited about how God would use it.

So, we invite you into praying for these things regarding the The Hub:
- That the costs of running the space would be covered by donations
- That a new leadership team would form and come alongside Dave and Betsy for the management of “The Hub” and for the church plant
- That we would find a new volunteer team that would help with various upcoming Hub activities: Monthly or Quarterly seminars and workshops, (we have 2 planned: one on understanding healthy ministry with the Roma and a Finance workshop) English Kid’s Club, Bike Repair times with Dave, Community Nights (where we invite people from the community to come in and present their craft/art/product), Creativity Nights, and other ideas…
Thanks for your support and interest in The Hub! We welcome your prayers, and stay tuned!
